Gwenaël Le Lay, leader and founder
of Copeeks company
Gwénaël Le Lay ( 43) has been a telecom engineer with ORANGE Ltd. for 18 years.
After completing most of his undergraduate studies in Computer science and Networking in Great Britain and Ireland , he spent his final year at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow where he was awarded an MPhil in Broadband Networks Interconnections by the department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering in 1996.
In 1997, he joined an Orange ( former France Telecom ) R&D unit in Lannion ( France ) where he will be involved in innovation research on ATM broadband networks, IP networks and their different associated services ( TV, VOIP, videoconferencing ) that we nowadays use in everyday life.
In 2008, he becomes head of a 15-strong R&D team. He will carry out multiple projects that aim at assessing the quality of TV offers as perceived by end-users. Various technologies have been tested so as to assess their relevance to service offers ( 3DTV, 5.1 surround systems, HD videoconferencing, Ultra HD TV).
Copeeks summarizes a career path. On the one hand, the agricultural world which Gwénaêl frequented ever since he was a child and his grandfather’s farm. On the other hand, broadband communications, VOIP, Ultra High definition video.
Copeeks is a Start-up based at the Anticipa technopole in Lannion (Bretagne-France).
Created in April 2016, Copeeks continues to evolve. It was selected by the Village By CA, dedicated to innovative companies.
Copeeks’ aim is to enable agricultural professionals to intelligently monitor crops and livestock.
